This one repetitively applies a filter to the bitmap image. Sure in AS3 this could be bigger, but it's pretty smooth even in AS2.

I've got one of those fancy new wireless Microsoft keyboards with loads of pointless buttons on it that you never use. The most annoying thing about it is that they've decided to remap all the function keys (F1-F12) and make them do pointless things, one that always gets me is F2 which is 'undo' now instead of 'rename'...grrr! A little As3 test based on Andre Michelles experiment here. Performance seems amazing, this is moving 15,000 points each frame and still runs at 40fps in Firefox on my machine! I've had it shifting over 50,000 points without too much slowdown...imagine that in FLash5 ;)(Flash 8.5 required)(The source is in the first comment)

Nice little app to test the different tween modes in F8. Worth a look to remind yourself less used types (that you might otherwise hand code) such as 'photo', 'iris', 'pixel disolve' and 'blind' are already there... mx.transitions

Yesterday I attended a pretty boring BD4D with the single exception of Andreas Muller who showed some really impressing stuff like this 'For All Seasons' piece . He introduced the next evolution of the project which uses AR to make the stuff happen wherever you want (ie. your hand, your head...) everything controlled by a camera mouse.
